Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland (OSNI)
OSNI provide mapping and locational support to Northern Ireland and are now part of the Land and Property Service (http://www.lpsni.gov.uk/).
Digital and paper products may be purchased through their Map Store:

Publishing Network for Geoscientific & Environmental Data (PANGAEA)
Publishing Network for Geoscientific & Environmental Data (PANGAEA) is an Open Access library aimed at archiving, publishing and distributing georeferenced data from earth system research.
Data can be found by using the PANGAEA search engine. or through links on web pages. Most of the data are freely available and can be used by referencing the related publication or the dataset citation. Some data sets from ongoing projects are under moratorium and access may be restricted. The data description (metadata) of all datasets are visible and include the principle investigators (PI) name and email for contact.
PANGAEA guarantees long-term availability of its content through a commitment of the operating institutions. Each dataset can be identified, shared, published and cited by using a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). In addition a citation for data collections can be defined on request. Citations are available through the catalog of the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIBORDER). Archiving follows the Recommendations of the Commission on Professional Self Regulation in Science for safeguarding good scientific practice.
The system is operated in the sense of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities which is a follow up to the Budapest Open Access Initiative.
The policy of data management and archiving follows the Principles and Responsibilities of ICSU World Data Centers and the OECD Principles and Guidelines for Access to Research Data from Public Funding.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA)
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) collect and hold a variety of environmental data. SEPA has divided its responsibilities into six catergories which may make it easier to search or direct data requests:
* minimised, recovered and well-managed waste
* good water environments
* good air quality
* good land quality
* a respected environment: protected, informed and engaged communities
* economic well-being.
A detailed page on possible charges is available here:

Second Administrative Level Boundaries (SALB) Dataset
The SALB dataset is a free dataset aiming at improving the availability of information about administrative boundaries down to the second sub-national level. It is a global digital dataset consisting of digital maps and codes that can be downloaded on a country by country basis.
The data is free to download but due to the difference in the quality of the documents compiled, the digital maps part of the dataset are more adapted for thematic mapping than for precise location or modeling. It is therefore recommended not to use this data at a scale below 1:1'000'000.

Soil Portal
This Soil Portal contributes to a thematic data infrastructure for soils in Europe. It presents data and information regarding soils at European level. It connects to activities within JRC concerning soil (JRC SOIL Action). It serves also as a vehicle to promote the activities of the European Soil Bureau Network. Spatial data collection and processing within this infrastructure is performed according to emerging ideas behind the INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) initiative.
To access data from the soil portal an email request will need to be sent to the administrator to recieve further instructions.
