EDINA Mobile Geo Scoping report publised

JISC funded Edina to undertake a scoping study to investigate the potential for delivering Digimap data and services to mobile platforms.

The project was seperated into 3 parts:
* User engagement: Discussions with a number of academics who either use mobile technology as a learning tool, or who develop mobile technology or applications. These users did not necessarily use geo or reside in traditional geo departments.
* Technical evaluation - assessing what tech is available now and how easy it could be for either us to implement, or how easy it would be for Digimap subscribers to integrate our data into.
* Pilot application: Setting up a database to hold some of our data and serving it up on a mobile client. In addition to this we investigated user authentication and x-platform compatibility issues.

If you fancy finding out more about the study you can download the report from our Geo-Mobile Blog.
