Go-Geo Help - Navigating the Site
Introduction
Navigation throughout Go-Geo! is now much simpler - You can navigate
through the site and use the related menu bars in colour coordinated
areas. The Home Page is split up into 3 sections: Blue Area (Web Resources and
Links); Red Area
(Geo-Data Searching); and Green Area
(Geospatial Metadata Resources & Tools). There is also a Top
Main Menu Bar for top-level website features.

All
data and metadata searches start at the home
page, as well as metadata creation services and data
swapping. These 4 options can always be accessed by clicking the home
page icon on the top menu.
Back
to Top
The top menu is the white bar
with buttons running along the bottom of the Go-Geo! banner at
the top of every page. This contains the top-level main navigation
buttons. This
includes a link to the home page
- the first button on the right, and ‘help’ and ‘FAQ’ buttons next to
it. There is also a "Login" button on the far right - this is to give
access to the Shibboleth ‘My Go-Geo’ page and functions for
registered users of the site. Click
here for more information on My Go-Geo!.

Blue Area
(Web Resources and
Links) Left Menu
The Blue Area menu on
the left hand side of the website Home page lists the Go-Geo! Web

Research, Training Cources; C) Conferences/Events, Discussion Groups;
D) Books. These links will either go to the resource list or another
sub-menu, where a further selection is required. You can also 'Search
Web Resources' by Keywords and By Place.
Red Area
(Geo-Data Search)
Right Panels Menu
The Red Area panel menu
on the central and right hand side of the website Home page lists the
Go-Geo! Geo-Data Search Channels, and includes the new Map-Search
interface. This section has been divided up into 4 main panel areas:
The Quick Data Search; Advanced Data Search (see also 'Help-Searching'
for more information about how to use these); Tell Others About Your
Data (for more information also see 'Help-The Metadata Creator Tool');
and, Share Data (SHAREGEO).
